How does writing articles not run into the problem with duplicate content?

Articles are the same as news. They come under the rules that apply to “syndicated content.”

They are both 100% white hat and search engines understand that both articles and news are created for the purpose of “syndication.”

Genuine articles are “written” to be published across many Web sites and they will never be penalized for duplicate content.

Duplicate content penalties primarily are triggered by people who may, for example only use the same content over and over just switching out a few keywords but not really writing anything that is original.

In short, some people are attempting to use the same old content over and over without ever really creating anything new or original.

If you are looking for short cuts, or grey area stuff, then your articles will definitely be penalized by the search engines.

But if you want more proof that search engines believe in and support ”article distribution” and understand the value of “syndication,” then check out the Search Engines “Creative Commons Areas.”

Both Yahoo and Google have Creative Commons areas where they not only will accept your articles but they encourage others to ”search for” and “use your original articles” so long as they follow the terms and conditions under the creative common license.

“If” article marketing was “duplicate content” or truly deemed as Spam, then why would the search engines themselves be offering up and also encouraging you to publish other people work?

Writing genuine, high quality articles will never get you penalized for “duplicate content” as long as you are doing it correctly. The search engines understand that both “articles” and “news” are fresh content that is meant for syndication.

Is it wise to buy some text links on high PR Web sites?

Question:

Is it wise to buy some text links on high PR Web sites?

Answer:

Definitely not. I would never purchase a link on someone elses Web site. I advise against buying text links. There are many people who end up paying money for what they think is a “valuable link” never realizing that there are plenty of scams out there that, look like link, behave like a link but are in fact of zero value.

It’s better to focus on building quality links (build them for your visitors) and avoid all manipulations.

TIPS:
If you have a budget to spend money, why not apply it to something that is legitimate Pay Per Click (PPC.) PPC is paid advertising and it can be very complimentary to your SEO work, as long as you monitor your results.

SEO Tips – Pay Per Click ( PPC )

On the topic of Pay Per Click, remember that there are advantages to using PPC such as Google Adwords. But also consider diversifying your campaigns. Remember that you are not “buying a link” but you are displaying an advertisement.

PPC is not SEO because it is “paid advertising.” but it can compliment your SEO work nicely so long as you are measuring the exact results and determine you cost per click and cost per lead.

Search Engine Ranking Fluctuation

When your search engine rankings fluctuate, or even if your site drops from the rankings, don’t panic. Understand that these things happen in this industry, and they WILL happen to you.

They happen to all of us.

What you DON’T want to do is make any changes to your Web pages
because of fluctuations in the rankings or because your site drops out of the rankings. Step back and wait to see what happens.

Monitor your rankings. Watch the industry. Read the news.

In all likelihood, your pages will reappear right back where they should be (or close to those rankings), if you haven’t done anything wrong (such as using spam). Fluctuations in rankings are normal.

Far too many people PANIC in the short term, when they would be wiser
to just take it easy and not start making changes so quickly. Just a word to the wise!

Create Web Design for Customers, Not for you

Remember: when it comes right down to it, “your” Web site isn’t and shouldn’t be designed for YOU. It should be designed for your customers.

What do your customers want to see on your Web site?

As Jakob Nielson of  http://www.useit.com/alertbox/design_priorities.html says, ”You are not the user.”  Web designers spend so much time on things that matter little to the customers. According to Neilson, you need to communicate clearly; provide information the users want; and offer simple page design and navigation.

The above referenced article gives some excellent information that
you’ll want to read.
